STEM & Buds is a not for profit, science mentoring program for younger students that enables them to create their own unique project on a STEM related topic. During the academic year, after-school sessions are hosted at various chapters in elementary and middle schools. The program also organizes summer camps for students that cannot attend during the rest of the year.

Our goal is to provide students from every walk of life with a one-on-one STEM learning experience that is completely free and easily accessible. We teach many students throughout the Greater Pittsburgh Area, especially focusing our resources on underprivileged populations. Through the program, students will be able explore their interests and passions and potentially become the doctors, engineers, mathematicians, or computer scientists of the future.

Our team has participated in numerous STEM activities such as science fairs, hackathons, and other competitions. Through these events, we found that creating, experimenting, and presenting a project that we ourselves created was a profound and rewarding experience. The opportunity to research and create something we truly enjoyed was invaluable, and we wanted to provide the same for younger students.

We are a group of high school students who love STEM - anything from coding a program to performing a chemistry experiment. All of us still remember the excitement we felt towards STEM activities when we were younger. Teaching allows us to share our interests with students and spark a passion of their own.

Volunteers will help teach middle school students STEM concepts and guide them through experiments and research projects.
